The second annual Veterans Day event attracted hundreds to downtown Lebanon Junction where there was a parade and special ceremony recognizing active-duty and retired military personnel.
The Fort Knox Color Guard led the procession of veterans representing conflicts from WWII to the War on Terror. Rolling Thunder Kentucky Chapter 4 also took part in the parade along Main Street.
The ceremony at Lebanon Junction Memorial Park was emceed by Ladies Auxiliary member Lindy Meyer, who teaches at Lebanon Junction Elementary.
After Lebanon Junction Elementary student Rena Baker sang God Bless the USA, students Andrea Easton and Abigale Williams shared their winning essays about Veterans Day.
The VFW commander shared a few words and local veterans were recognized. A spaghetti dinner and VFW fundraiser was held at the nearby Lebanon Junction Community Center following the ceremony.
