SHEPHERDSVILLE - Over 1,400 students will be affected next fall when the Bullitt County Public School System redistricts to alleviate overcrowding and to provide youngsters for its newest elementary school in Mount Washington.

On Tuesday night, the Bullitt County Public School Board unanimously approved a revised redistricting plan that would affect every school but Nichols Elementary.

The only discussion from the public came from a resident in The Pointe subdivision, who once again said it was unfair to her child to be sent from a top-performing Freedom Elementary to Brooks Elementary, which has yet to pass the federal No Child Left Behind act.

Notification will be sent to parents of affected students early in 2010.
