There is no question that the per pupil spending on youngsters in Bullitt County is below par.
And there is no doubt that every extra penny you can squeeze out of the budget for curriculum-driven programs would be money well spent.
However, a proposal to outsource the cleaning services in the school district deserves some thought.
From the standpoint of superintendent Keith Davis, hiring a company to provide custodial services makes sense. It could save the district $240,000 annually and even provide more cleaning hours from an outside service.
