School system to host hearing, vote on new tax rates this evening

Proposal will be to increase tax rate from 64.2 cents per $100 of assessed property to 66.2 cents. On a $100,000 home, the increase would be from $642 to $662, or $20 per year.

 SHEPHERDSVILLE -- The Bullitt County Public School Board will host a public hearing on Monday, Aug. 24, prior to its regular meeting.

On the docket is a proposed rate increase on real property from 64.2 cents per $100 of assessed property to 66.2 cents.

That would mean that on a $100,000 home, the tax would increase from $642 to $662.

The new tax rate would generate $37.9 million in revenue for the district.
