SHEPHERDSVILLE - In its inaugural year, Bullitt County's Second Sunday event was indeed second, trailing only Lexington as the highest attended event in Kentucky.
This year's event hopes to be doubled with two designated county locations.
Second Sunday is a statewide physical activity event. The idea originated in Bogota, Columbia, where 70 miles of roadway were closed each Sunday to promote exercise.
An estimated 12,000 Kentuckians participated in 2008 Second Sunday events in 70 counties.
