BROOKS – For years, residents in the Big Valley community have battled through a sewage treatment plant that has not worked.
For years, raw sewage could be seen running through ditches.
And for years, despite a desire to find a way to help, roadblocks stopped residents from getting any assistance.
Now, after a year of work by former state Rep. Linda Belcher, First District magistrate Ruthie Ashbaugh, the Bullitt County Sanitation District and officials in Frankfort, things are looking up for residents in the Big Valley community off Pryor Valley Road.
