HILLVIEW - Local and state officials are seeking ways to stop raw sewage from leaking into waterways in northern Bullitt County.
On Saturday, an aging package treatment plant owned by the Bullitt Utilities, literally blew out a portion of the facility.
While the pumps and electric remained in operation, the 40-year-old plant could no longer treat the incoming sewage from its 700 customers.
According to Jerry Kennedy, operator of the Bullitt County Sanitation District, his agency is providing assistance in the situation.
