BARDSTOWN - Two men have been indicted for the Nov. 18 armed robbery of Advance America Cash Advance in Kentucky Home Square shopping center in Bardstown.

Luke Aldon Hasty, 30, and Soloman S. Evans Jr., 32, both of Shepherdsville, were indicted for first-degree robbery and complicity to first-degree robbery, both class B felonies. Bail was set for each at $200,000 cash only, plus conditions.

Hasty and Evans have been connected to at least 20 other robberies throughout Kentucky and southern Indiana.

They were previously indicted on numerous charges in Bullitt County.

One of the men allegedly entered Advance America around noon Nov. 18, threatened the store manager with a gun, and demanded money.

“Once he got the money he told her to go to the back of the store,” apparently to conceal his means of escape, Bardstown Police Chief Charles Marksbury said.

The suspect, who was dressed in black clothing with a dark hat and black ski mask, then fled by car or by foot, making off with $120.

Bardstown police were unable to apprehend the suspect or suspects at the time.

After leading police in a high-speed chase, Evans and Hasty were taken into custody Jan. 15 in Oldham County.

Two of Evans’ children were in the car during the pursuit while Hasty was allegedly driving.

The chase ended when the car crashed into a police blockade. No one was injured in the accident.

The pair has been questioned by police departments concerning robberies in Louisville, Radcliff, Elizabethtown, Mount Washington, Shepherdsville, Shively and LaGrange in Kentucky and New Albany, Jeffersonville and Clarksville in Indiana.

The men were indicted Feb. 16 in Nelson County, with arraignment set for March 2 at 9 a.m.
