SHEPHERDSVILLE - While it is not what most people in the audience may have wanted, Shepherdsville sewer customers will receive a bit of a break from the rate increase proposed on Monday night.
After listening to some discussion from the public Thursday evening, the Shepherdsville City Council voted 5-1, with Faith Portman in opposition, to a rate increase of roughly 66 percent on sewer rates.
The increase will be effective on Aug. 1, 2011.
