Sheriff’s Deputy Ford carries torch as part of Special Olympics World Games

 AUSTRIA -- When the final leg of the of the torch run is conducted at the Special Olympics World Games on Saturday, March 18, a special local touch will be present.

Trevor Ford, a deputy with the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office, will be one of the 88 law enforcement members who are part of this special ceremony in Austria.

As a member of the Final Leg team, Ford and fellow law enforcement members will carry the torch through 45 cities to honor the Special Olympic spirit.

Ford has been a volunteer with the program for the past four years. Activities include fund-raisers such as the Tips a Cop and Cops on Top of Doughnut Shops.

Kentucky state director Felipe Hernandez said that Ford was chosen to participate from a list of other law enforcement officers from across the commonwealth.

“Deputy Ford ahs been a great part of the Kentucky LETR program and continues to bring a great attitude and his big smile to the events,” said Hernandez.
