The Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office, along with other law enforcement agencies, is currently participating in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.
The campaign runs through the Labor Day weekend, Sept. 3.
This is sponsored by the Kentucky Highway Safety Program to inform the public that everyone who drinks and gets behind the wheel of a vehicle will be arrested if they are pulled over and are above the legal limit.
Last year, Kentucky recorded more than 5,750 alcohol-related crashes, which resulted in 146 deaths and more than 3,000 injuries.
During the Labor Day weekend alone, nine people were killed and 388 injured in the state.
Officers from the sheriff’s office, as well as other agencies, will be aggressively enforcing traffic laws with special emphasis on drunk drivers.
