SHEPHERDSVILLE - Are you building or remodeling a home and need some ideas? Maybe you’re a home improvement buff who likes to keep up with the hottest home and garden trends.
Whatever the case may be, you’ll find everything you’re looking for under one roof during the second annual Home Product Expo Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 7-8, at the Paroquet Springs Conference Centre in Shepherdsville.
The event, sponsored by the Louisville Home Builders Association, is expected to boast more than 70 vendors, including qualified local builders, remodelers, landscapers and retailers who will be showcasing a variety of home improvement products while offering a wealth of advice.
Louisville Home Builders Association director of public affairs and communications Tara Brinkmoeller said the expo is the perfect opportunity for area residents to see everything home and garden in one stop.
“It’s a great way to spend quality time with local experts who can help you tackle your to-do list this year,” she said.
“Whether you’re a homeowner with a project in mind or a potential homeowner looking for ideas, the Home Product Expo will help get the ideas flowing.”
While the Louisville Homebuilders Association has hosted annual home product expos for more than 60 years, 2012 is only the second year Shepherdsville is hosting the event.
“We really feel Bullitt County is a growing market and the community deserves a locally produced show,” Brinkmoeller said.
“There’s momentum in the area and in the economy. People are buying and they’re thinking about ways they can improve their homes.”
Show director Gail Schell said there will be something for everyone, whether you’re looking to pave a driveway, install new cabinets, build a deck, remodel a bathroom or add some life to your landscaping.
“We’ve worked hard to make sure there’s good variety,” Schell said.
Schell said the home builders association is looking forward to again hosing the event, adding that they hope it will continue in Shepherdsville for years to come.
“It was a blast last year and I think it’ll be even better this time around,” she said.
Brinkmoeller said everyone is encouraged to attend the free event, which will be the first home improvement show of the season in the Louisville area.
Expo goers can register to win a variety of prizes at the show including an iPad 2 and a recliner valued at $500 from Schmitt Furniture.
Additionally, tickets for the annual Home, Garden & Remodeling Show presented by Window World will be given away during the weekend.
The event will be held Saturday, 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
