SHEPHERDSVILLE - For 91 years generations of Bullitt County women have worked together in their own style.

Each year the Bullitt County Woman's Club gives back to the community in the form of college scholarships.

The 43rd annual Irene Carroll Scholarship Luncheon and Style Show will celebrate all of that with its theme, "Through the Generations."

Woman's Club representative Lou Ann Moore said the style show will feature three generations of family members modeling together.

"Through the Generations was selected to commemorate the past history of the club," Moore said. "There will be a little history in our program, such as our help with developing the local libraries."

Spring fashions modeled at this year's show are courtesy of Macy's with accessories by Missy K's.

The Woman's Club will hold true to a time-honored tradition of awarding three $1,500 scholarships to local students, one selected from each of the county's high schools.

Moore said the annual luncheon is a way for the Woman's Club to encourage new memberships.

"We're always looking for new members," she said. "This is a way to see all that we do."

This year's festivities will take place Saturday, Apr. 12, at Paroquet Springs Conference Centre. Doors open at 11 a.m. Paroquet Springs will provide a sandwich menu lunch beginning at 11:30.

Door prizes and silent auctions will take place, along with an opportunity to win one of three share packages.

According to Moore, chances to win the share packages are $1 each with proceeds benefitting the scholarship program.

The share packages include an iPad Mini donated by Professional Office Solutions, a Kindle Fire donated by John Wooldridge, and a "dinnertainment" package courtesy of the Woman's Club.

Tickets for the luncheon are $25. Make reservations by calling 538-7410, 538-6623 or 296-1578.
