HEBRON ESTATES - The start and the finish were just fine for the North Bullitt Lady Eagles on Tuesday when they traveled up Preston Highway to battle 24th District rival Southern.
Unfortunately, the two middle quarters were a disaster for the green and gold resulting in a 61-50 loss to the Lady Eagles.
North Bullitt scored 21 points in the first quarter to lad by eight points and then rallied in the fourth quarter with 18 points. The opposite was the middle two quarters as coach Amber Courtney’s team managed to score only 11 points over 16 minutes of play.
The game had some importance as Southern earned the number three seed in the 24th District Tournament while North Bullitt will be in the number four slot.
North Bullitt (8-13) got 13 points from freshman Savannah Morrison along with 10 points from seventh-grader Katie Downey.

In the second game on Tuesday, there was almost no offense early in the game before Southern pulled away in the second half to beat the North Bullitt boys’ 49-41.
The two rivals were stuck in neutral as the first quarter ended with the Trojans on top 5-3. The offenses finally got moving in the second frame as Southern moved out to a 19-15 lead. It was close throughout the second half, but North Bullitt could not generate a lot of offense.
Myron Goodall paced the Trojans with 15 points.
North Bullitt, which fell to 0-4 in games in the district standings this season, got 13 points from junior Brandon Goeing.
