2012 11th Annual Girls’ Bullitt East/High Potential Showcase

MOUNT WASHINGTON - Some of Kentucky’s top girls’ players and teams will converge on Bullitt East this weekend for the 11th Annual Bullitt East/High Potential Showcase.

The event is a series of scrimmages involving 10 teams under one roof. The pairings will have teams playing a junior-varsity scrimmage for an hour before the varsity teams take the court to play for two hours.

The highlight of the two-day series comes on Saturday morning as two of the state’s top five teams - Marion County and Owensboro Catholic - will tangle.

Owensboro Catholic is led by 6-1 senior Rebecca Greenwell, one of the top 10 players in the country and the top player in Kentucky who signed with Notre Dame this week.

Marion County is led by seniors Makayla Epps and Kyvin Goodin-Rogers. Both players were going to sign with the University of Kentucky this week.

Bullitt East will be in action on Friday night as the Lady Chargers will take on Glasgow. The Sixth Region semi-finalists from last season are led by junior point guard Emily Fryman and sophomore center Kylee Willis.

The final action on Saturday will include Bullitt East’s 24th District rival Mercy against LaRue County.

There will be a small admission charge on each day.
