Strategetic plan, land-use plan now in works

    While zoning normally takes the headlines, some planning issues were important in 2012.
    First, a committee co-chaired by state Rep. Linda Belcher and Chamber of Commerce president Lou Ann Moore began to work on a strategic plan.

    Various committees were formed and a plan was developed. Work continues to fulfill the goals of the plan.
    Second, a consultant was hired to finally complete a revision of the county’s land-use plan.
