MOUNT WASHINGTON – Students in Teresa Cox's third grade class learned a valuable lesson Friday: That the gift of a handmade scarf can warm the heart and body.
For the past ten years Cox, who teaches at Pleasant Grove Elementary School, has presented her students with a handmade scarf each Christmas.
For the first eight years, Cox's grandmother, Vietula, and her mother, Violet, joined together to make each student in Cox's class a unique scarf. She said her grandmother believed that each child was unique and deserved a special gift around the holidays.
