Students receive Mahaffey scholarships

 Three Bullitt Central seniors were awarded the Children in Flight Justin Brandon Mahaffey scholarships. 

Casey Sanders received the $3,000 Gold Scholarship. She plans to attend Bellarmine University and major in accounting. Her parents are Billy and Terri Sanders.

Joseph Combest was selected to receive the $1,000 Silver Scholarship. He will attend Campbellsville University and major in accounting. His parents are Bob and Liz Combest.

And Megan Terry will also receive the $1,000 Silver Scholarship. She will major in agriculture education at Murray State University. She is the daughter of Dennis and Penny Terry.

Children in Flight has given over $20,000 in student scholarship money to Bullitt Central graduates in memory of former student, Justin Brandon Mahaffey. His parents, Dana and Wayne Lewis of Shepherdsville Discount Auto Supply, are dedicated in helping support students in their education.

Children in Flight will host its sixth annual golf scramble on Oct. 11 to help raise funds for upcoming scholarships. Children in Flight is a non-profit organization for educational purposes.
