SHEPHERDSVILLE - Spring sports fans can get a rare treat on Thursday when Bullitt East visits Bullitt Central not for just one game, but two games in two different sports - and right next to each other.
The only regular season meeting between the the two 24th District rivals in both baseball and softball will take place at 5 p.m. on Thursday on the new fields at Bullitt Central located behind the Bullitt County Vocational Center.
While it is not completely unusual for baseball and softball teams from the same school to be playing at home on the same day and at the same time, but it is rare to have it being such important games. Plus, the new fields at Bullitt Central are right next to each other. Fans in some seats will have an unobstructed view of both games at the same time.
Fans will pay one admission price, $3, for the opportunity to watch both contests.
While there is some parking near the new fields, most fans will need to park in the large lot behind Bullitt Central and then walk around either side of the vocational school.
This will be a preview of the post-season in both sports as Bullitt Central will host both the 24th District Tournaments for softball and baseball.
Want to make it a full afternoon? North Bullitt’s boys’ tennis team will visit Bullitt Central starting at 3 p.m. That event is free to watch.
