The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that Fisher Lane in Bullitt County will be closed next week near the intersection with Duane Way.
This closure is part of an improvement project on KY 44 at the intersection with Armstrong Lane and Fisher Lane.
Fisher Lane will be closed to thru traffic between Eric Christy Road and Duane Way beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 18. Local access will be allowed. This section of roadway will be closed for approximately two weeks. Motorists should follow the signed detour via KY 44 and Cedar Brook Road.
Work began in the spring on this project which includes construction of turning lanes on all four legs of the intersection and installation of a traffic signal. Armstrong Lane and Fisher Lane are offset at the existing intersection. During construction, both roads will be realigned to intersect KY 44 at right angles.
Two-way traffic is being maintained on KY 44 during the majority of construction. Some lane closures are necessary and traffic is being directed through flagging operations. Lane closures are possible weekdays from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Mac Construction of Louisville was awarded the contract for this project in the amount of $1.3 million. Construction is scheduled for completion by the end of 2014.
The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
