The Woman’s Club would like to thank the Bullitt County Art Council for their participation in the Fall Conference.
Their wonderful displays on the tables and throughout the room were beautiful. A special thanks to Donna burke and Judy Nevitt for their singing performance, as well as Jacob Head with the Compass Quarter, for his solos on the Violin. Their performances were inspiring up lifting.
We had many Art pieces from the 4th District, which consist of Bullitt County, Campbellsville, Columbia, Elizabethtown, Elizabethtown Jr.s, Leitchfield, and the Radcliff Woman’s Clubs.
Judges were Betty Witt (Small Town Gallery, President, Bullitt County Art Council, President of the Visual Arts of Bullitt County, and Vice President of he Advisory Board of the Bullitt County Community Center, Asst. Superintendent at the Kentucky State fair in the Fine Arts Department since 2011-2012, Madona Cash (Madonna teachers basket weaving in Bullitt, Spencer, Nelson and Shelby counties in Kentucky, member Bullitt County Art Council, Laverne Arkenberg (studied art at Louisville School of Art, University of Louisville, studied Art History in Paris, France.
Winners for our Bullitt County Woman’s Club were Angela Woodward – 3th Place Jewelry, Gaye Gardner (President Bullitt County Woman’s Club), 1st Place Photography, Carol McLaughlin 1st Place Basket Weaving, Jacque Prewitt 1st Place Sculpture.
Congratulations to all the winner and participants in the 4th District Art Contest and Fall Conference! It was a great success. A special thanks to all the woman who put in hours of hard work to make it a success. We couldn’t have done it without you.
