Bullitt County government recently lost a very valuable member of its team.

Having served under three different county judge/executives, Kendall Grant recently resigned as director of the parks and recreation department.

Grant had a keen interest, especially in youth sports, throughout the county.

Over the past few years, Kendall battled through some very serious medical issues. In the end, he decided that it was best to take the time to get better physically.

Besides having to deal with the health issues, the more frustrating part may be that his departure comes at a time when there appears to be a lot of momentum for the parks department.

Having to deal with the swimming pool crisis last year, the county leaders got its parks board back in operation.

The parks board has given new vision and hope for the future of the recreation and parks system in Bullitt County.

For Grant and other past directors, it is a shame that drive and determination has not always been present in terms of providing programs for the county’s citizens.

We thank Kendall for his service to the county.
