Time to rally behind teams

Our Views

Now that the regular season is over, it’s time to pull together and root for the county’s representative in the PNC/KHSAA Sweet Sixteen.

For the second year in a row, the red and gold from Bullitt East will be representing the Sixth Region in the state basketball title.

The tournament opens for the Chargers against the top-ranked Trinity Shamrocks at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Rupp Arena.

We expect to see a huge crowd representing Bullitt County in attendance.

And we expect the school to get a lot of support from people throughout the county.

The next week, the North Bullitt girls’ bowling team will be going for its state title. There will also be several individual competitors from the county.

While the media attention will be much less, the importance of the event to the competitor is just as critical.

Academics are the key component of any child’s education. However, athletics do play a role in creating a total educational environment.

We wish our teams well.
