SHEPHERDSVILLE-- What was already a long weekend after the Bullitt Central Cougars lost on the previous Friday and Saturday got longer last Friday when the maroon and gray traveled to Elizabethtown and were knocked off by the state's top-ranked team 77-35.
Already trailing 43-22 by halftime, Bullitt Central let the game really get away from them in the third quarter as they were outscored 21-4. That pretty the running clock rule into play and the game ended quickly in the final frame.
Bullitt Central did get 11 points from junior Breanna Richardson, but no other Lady Cougar had more than six points.
Elizabethtown got 22 points from 6-2 junior Erin Boley, one of the top-ranked players in the state.
The Lady Cougars will be back in action on Tuesday of this week when they play host to Moore in a key 23rd District game. Game time is set for 6 p.m.

At Elizabethtown
BULLITT CENTRAL 35 (7-15-4-9) Lexi Graham 5, Breanna Richardson 11, Kasey Renfrow 3, Cortney Johns 5, Shelby Ross 5, Bethany Peercy 6.
    ELIZABETHTOWN 77 (19-24-21-13) Buff 2, Bowling 5, Mudd 12, Stinson 4, Warden 7, Pfeiffer 3, Thomas 2, Boley 22, Deaton 3, Cleaver 17.

Lady Chargers Roll
Bullitt East and Western went to a lot of trouble to reschedule a game originally set for early December, but itÕs not real clear why they went to the trouble as the Lady Chargers rolled to an impressive 78-29 victory on Tuesday.
The win was the eighth in a row for the Lady Chargers as they improved to 13-2 overall. In 12 of the 13 wins Bullitt East has held the opponent to 43 points or less.
On Tuesday, freshman center Raegan Williams came off the bench and led the way with 14 points while senior Courtney Pfister had 13 points and freshman Lindsay Duvall had 12 points.
It will be a lot more difficult for Bullitt East on Tuesday when they make the short trip into Jefferson County to battle Mercy in a contest of teams ranked among the top-20 teams in the state. The varsity contest will start at around 7:30 p.m.
