SHEPHERDSVILLE - Starting in June, the Shepherdsville-Bullitt County Tourist and Convention Commission will meet at a different time.

In order to give directors more time to get financial records prepared for the previous month, commissioners agreed to meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 4:30 p.m.

The meetings are held at Paroquet Springs Conference Centre and are open to the public.

The commission continued to look at items to upgrade the current facility.

Over $12,000 will be spent to upgrade old computers at the center. Most of the system came with the original building over 10 years ago.

Chairman Tom Kelly said the new computers would speed up the current system.

The commission also voted to spend under $3,000 to install garbage cans and benches at the new boat ramp on the Salt River.

Three garbage cans and three benches will be installed.

At the May 11 meeting, the commission will continue its study at installing drapes on the Salt River Hall ceiling and will look at plans for the expansion of the McDowell room.

Grant requests were approved for Bourbon Chase ($1,000), Bluegrass 101 festival in August ($1,000) and the Hillview City Fair in May ($500).

The next meeting will be May 11 at 4:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
