By The Staff

MOUNT WASHINGTON - Those using Highway 44 between Shepherdsville and Mount Washington were hoping the entire road would be widened.

However, a revised plan recommended improvements at various intersections along Highway 44.

The state transportation cabinet will host a meeting on Thursday, July 22, at Pleasant Grove Elementary.

Presentations will be given on the proposals at 5:15 p.m. and at 6:15 p.m.

Residents are invited to come in and look at the maps and ask questions from 5-7 p.m.

The written and oral comments will then be made part of the record and used to make a final decision on what improvements will be made.

The suggestion of adding turn lanes at places such as Bells Mill Road, Bogard Lane, Greenbriar Road and Armstrong Lane were to provide some relief to the congestion.

The public is encouraged to come out and offer suggestions. Suggestions can also be mailed to Paul Davis, Department of Highways, 8310 Westport Road, Louisville, Ky. 40242.
