HILLVIEW - When members of the Bullitt County Drug Task Force were called to an apartment complex in northern Bullitt County, they probably didn’t expect to see what they found.

First, the sheriff’s detectives went to a dumpster at the Brooks Run Apartments off Blue Lick Road.

Upon inspection, the detectives found what appeared to be two meth labs, according to task force director Cpt. Mike Halbleib.

Then, the detectives spoke with a female who resided at a unit on North Triangle Lane.

Inside that residence, detectives found three more methamphetamine labs, which were active.

Two individuals were charged and arrested.

Lekisha Nicole Sherrill, 32, was arrested, along with her cousin, James William Sherrill Jr., 40.

Both were charged with manufacturing methampetamine, unlawful possession of a meth precursor, possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal abuse.

The latter charge was due to the fact that a young child was in the apartment where the meth was allegedly being produced.

Both are housed in the Bullitt County Detention Center.
