HILLVIEW - In Kentucky, the first Saturday in May is known as the Run for the Roses. Now the second Saturday of October is known as a walk for health.
Known as 2nd Sunday, the statewide event was created to promote a healthy exercise opportunity in various places for local residents.
The idea originated in Bogota, Columbia, where city streets were closed to vehicles on Sundays so pedestrians could use them.
