UPDATE: 24th District finals

 UPDATE (05/27): OKOLONA - The Bullitt East Chargers dominated the diamonds, winning both the 24th District Baseball and Softball Tounaments.

The boys won easily in a 9-2 rout of North Bullitt.

The Lady Chargers were able to fend off Bullitt Central by a score of 5-2.

The final two teams in each tournament will both advance to the Sixth Region Tournaments next week.

Local softball and baseball district titles will be decided tonight at Southern High School.

The District 24 softball championship game will begin at 5:30 p.m. and pit Bullitt East and Bullitt Central, the top two seeds. At stake will be the district crown and a better seed in the Sixth Region tournament.

Bullitt East got by Southern 2-0 on Wednesday.

Bullitt Central completely dominated North Bullitt 13-0. The Lady Cougars scored all their runs in the final two innings.

In District 24 baseball, Bullitt East and North Bullitt will face each other in a 6 p.m. game.

Bullitt East used a big nine-run third inning to derail Fairdale 10-0 in five innings.

North Bullitt got on top early then held on to defeat Southern 8-5.

Both teams will advance to St. Xavier for Region 6 play on Monday.
