MOUNT WASHINGTON – With one indictment already hanging over his head, Second District constable Clifton Joel Hudson is now facing another felony charge.

At around 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Hudson was arrested by the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office High Intensity Drug Enforcement (HIDE) unit.

According to Lt. Mike Murdoch, public information officer for the sheriff’s office, Hudson was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance.

He allegedly was selling a substance appearing to be heroin during a controlled buy on Tuesday.

Entering a not guilty plea, Hudson is scheduled to be in Bullitt District Court on Tuesday morning for a probable cause hearing.

The 43-year-old Hudson has already been indicted on charges of selling or distributing prescription pills. That arrest occurred last December and his trial date in Bullitt Circuit Court will be on Aug. 1.

That investigation, while unrelated, was also conducted by the HIDE unit.

Hudson, who was elected in 2010, remains the district’s constable.
