SHEPHERDSVILLE - Bullitt East senior Hunter Wood and North Bullitt senior Clayton Kelly were recently named to the Kentucky All-State Baseball teams announced by the Kentucky Baseball Coaches Association.
Wood, who will attend Western Kentucky University next season, was a first-team All-State selection. This past season, Wood had a .442 batting average with 46 hits. That number included 17 doubles, three triples and two home runs.. He also drove in a team high 38 runners.
Kelly, who was already named the Sixth Region Player of the Year, was a third team selection to the All-State squad. Kelly, who will play at Murray State next fall, had a .345 batting average with 25 RBIs. That included 11 doubles, 34 runs and 15 stolen bases.
Bullitt East junior Zac Ching was an honorable mention selection for All-State honors. Ching batted .304 this spring.
Both Wood and Kelly will play In the Kentucky East-West Senior All-Star games on Wednesday of this week. The doubleheader will start at 4 p.m. and will be played at Pleasure Ridge Park High School.
The sophomore and juniors played in All-Star games in Louisville earlier this week.
