FERN CREEK-- All three Bullitt County wrestling programs recently competed in the Gladiator Tournament at Fern Creek High School, a two-day 21-team event.
    Bullitt Central had the best day as they scored 113 points to finish eighth in the big field. Bullitt East was 17th with 39 points while North Bullitt had 34 points to finish 18th.
    Bullitt Central had the only winner as senior Mark Saunders won the 195-pound division to score 27 team points. Twin brother, Michael Saunders also reached the final match, but he lost finishing second and scoring 23 points.
    The Cougar program also got a pair of sixth place finishes as Eli Thacker scored 11 points at 220-pounds while Sean Sanders scored 10 points at 285-pounds.
    Also scoring team points for the Cougars were Nick Curtis, Blaine Spalding, Megail Perkins, Jeremy Bosier, Bailey Sircy and Ethan Hornack.
    Bullitt East's Tevin Smith also had a big tournament as he finished third overall at 138-pounds. That was good for 24 team points.
    The Charger program also had team points from Logan Henry, Chase Askins and Stephen Garcia.
    The best finish for North Bullitt was a sixth-place spot for Devin Seebold at 120-pounds which scored 12 points for the Eagles.
    North Bullitt also got points from D.J. Ashley, Kraig Jarrell, Andrew Kastlehun and Trent Waltenberg.
