  • Salute to the Veterans from Lebanon Junction

     The second annual Veterans Day event attracted hundreds to downtown Lebanon Junction where there was a parade and special ceremony recognizing active-duty and retired military personnel. 

  • Happy 175th

     Past and present members of the First Baptist Church of Shepherdsville closed out a series of events commemorating the 175th anniversary of the church.

    A dinner was held after the special service to observe the anniversary.

    Other events were held on the days prior to the special service.

  • Scouting for Food Saturday

     Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts from numerous scout units across Bullitt County will be collecting canned goods and other non-perishable food on Saturday, November 17.

    Many scouts walked neighborhoods to place informational flyers on doors this past Saturday.  Some units may also place signs along main roads or at subdivision entrances to increase public awareness and remind folks to donate.  This Saturday, those scouts will be returning to those same neighborhoods to collect food donations.

  • Diabetes Education event set for Saturday

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - There are 6,314 Bullitt Countians directly affected by diabetes. Jessica Craddock, community organizer for the Bullitt County Diabetes Coalition, knows there is a prominent need for community education.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - Thousands of people came to look and to admire and to get some new ideas.

  • Shine Your Light set for Nov. 7 in Mt. Washington

     The community of Mount Washington, Ky., is asking churches, organizations and individuals to unite to Shine Your Light Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 9 to 9:30 p.m. by standing side by side along sidewalks and streets in Mount Washington with candles or flashlights to shine forth a light of good will, faith and hope. 

  • MW Fire Department Halloween Bash Oct. 28

     The Mount Washington Fire Protection District's annual Halloween Bash will be held Sunday, Oct. 28 at Fire Station 1, 772 N. Bardstown Rd. 6-9 p.m. 

    There will lots of activities for the whole family, including live music, a scavenger hunt and a hay-ride through the field behind the fire station. 

    Kids can play games, jump on an inflatable bouncer and slide, get temporary tattoos and participate in the MWFPD Halloween Bash Costume Contest. 

  • First Baptist of Shepherdsville to celebrate its 175th anniversary

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - The First Baptist Church of Shepherdsville will be observing its 175th anniversary on Oct. 31-Nov. 4.

  • Brooks Run stream walk set to be held again on Saturday, October 27

     HILLVIEW - The annual effort to help clean up the Brooks Run stream will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27.

  • Domestic violence awareness activities Saturday

     The second annual community awareness day will be held in observe Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

    The event will run from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the Shepherdsville City Park.

    The Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office and the Center for Women and Families will sponsor the event.

    Activities are free and open to the public.

    At 9:30 a.m., a walk will be held in honor of Kim Nugent, a victim of domestic violence.
