  • All-breed puppy match Sunday at Paroquet

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - An all-breed puppy match will be held Sunday, Jan. 15, at the Paroquet Springs Conference Center.

    The match is opened to all AKC registerable dogs at least three months in age. Puppies will be judged separately from adults. 

  • Wines from county part of inauguration

    FRANKFORT - Bullitt County was featured as part of this year's traditional Kentucky Gubernatorial Inauguration festivities.

                Two local wines were selected among the three served during the official inauguration dinner honoring Gov. Steve Beshear.

                MillaNova Winery in Mt. Washington was honored with the selection of its Cabernet Savignon red wine, while Brooks Hill Winery was represented with its Vidal Blanc white wine.

     The Bullitt County Toys for Tots campaign yieled thousands of toys for little boys and girls this season.

    The kickoff to the annual campaign was a ride from Tractor Supply in Hillview to Paroquet Springs Conference Centre.

     Each year, the Hillview Operation Santa program provides over 400 food baskets and toys to families who are less fortunate during the holiday season.

  • All I want for Christmas...

     Trey Constant, 5, a preschool student at Roby Elementary, took a few moments Friday night to sit on Santa’s lap and give him a list of items off his Christmas list.

    Santa was busy on Friday and has been visiting many locations in Bullitt County over the past week.

    Watch in coming weeks for more Christmas photos, as well as Letters to Santa, which will begin next Wednesday and continue in the Dec. 19 and Dec. 21 issues.

    Remember the deadline for Santa letters is Dec. 9.

    MOUNT WASHINGTON - After spending more than a year renovating the historic Lloyd House on Old Bardstown Road, the Mount Washington Historical Society will enjoy the fruits of their labor during a much anticipated open house this weekend.


    Everyone's invited to see the refurbished nineteenth century home and museum in its holiday splendor during the historical society's Old Tyme Christmas Open House on Sunday.
