  • Giving Thanks

While many were enjoying the Thanksgiving day holiday at home, dozens of volunteers gathered at First Baptist Church in Shepherdsville and at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church between Shepherdsville and Mount Washington.

The mission of this day was to make sure several hundred families had a hot, delicious Thanksgiving meal.

For years, volunteers at both churches, along with groups like Scout Troop 848, have worked to prepare meals for those in need in the community.

The game took place at the Hillview Community Center court.

  • Veteran's Day 2011

Major Tim Starke didn’t think he would get to attend the annual Overdale Elementary Veteran’s Day salute.

However, his unit returned home recently and Starke was once again a major part of the school celebration.

But on Friday, his son, Ben, a preschool student at Overdale, also played a role. Wife and mom, Heidi, is a teacher at the school.
