LOUISVILLE - A Bullitt County seventh grader, Lilly Mooney, was among the 12 students selected from across the state to display their agriculture science projects at last week’s Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) annual meeting in Louisville.
Mooney, a homeschooled student, displayed her science project as part of the KFB annual meeting’s tradeshow.
Her project, called “One Potato, Two Potato,” explored the nutritional value and versatility of potatoes.
SHEPHERDSVILLE - The 88th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade will have everything you want to see: Floats, balloons, clowns, celebrities, Broadway performances and a marching band with a Bullitt County high school student.
Bullitt Central senior band and marching band member Sarah Schaaf will perform with 185 high school musicians and 40 dancers in the Macy’s Great American Marching Band during the parade.
SHEPHERDSVILLE -- One little girl will be following in her mother’s footsteps this holiday season.
Nine-year-old Evelyn Flaherty, the daughter of Robert and DeeAnn Flaherty, was recently crowned Miss American Crossroads Sweetheart and will be competing in the National Miss American Coed Pageant in Florida next week.
Evelyn’s mother, DeeAnn, said her daughter became interested in pageants after watching some old videos of her competitions about five years ago.
