MOUNT WASHINGTON - When it comes to being an educator, Crossroads Elementary kindergarten teacher Carla Wilson has a simple philosophy: love what you do.
After 17 years in education Wilson, 41, still loves what she does and it has not gone unnoticed.
For her passion and commitment to education, Wilson was recently named Bullitt County Public School's 2012 Elementary School Teacher of the Year.
SHEPHERDSVILLE - It’s unusual, even rare, but not impossible. For those involved, it’s even kind of special. A handful of Bullitt County Public Schools’ students, and one teacher, share a common birthday on Feb. 29, also known as Leap Year Day.
LEXINGTON, KY – Overdale Elementary School parent, Jennifer Toll of Shepherdsville, was one of 30 parents from across Kentucky who graduated from the Commonwealth Institute for Parent Leadership focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
An initiative of the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence, this program is designed and implemented in partnership with the Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science and The Center for Gifted Studies at Western Kentucky University.
NICHOLS - The pilot is Bill Hale, a Bullitt County resident who suddenly passed away in October 2010.
The plane is a 1976 model Antonov An-2, the world’s largest of its kind, according to Hale’s son-in-law, Mike Russell. It will travel to Crestview, Fla., purchased by Vertol Systems Company (VSC) in nearby Destin.
Hale, a Bullitt County resident for 20 years, last flew the plane 14 years ago. It has been resting in a field on Hale’s property since the last flight.
