SHEPHERDSVILLE -- It was over 30 years ago when a small group of individuals had a dream of starting a YMCA branch in Bullitt County.
Once all the parts came together, the branch was formed.
Rose Haley remembers the next step was to find someone to lead an agency with no facilities, a small office and a budget of $25,000.
They would find June Crenshaw, who was working in Lexington after graduating from Eastern Kentucky University.
“We took a chance on her,” said Haley. “And she took a chance on us.”
