Chargers compete; Ballard still advances

VALLEY STATION – Coming into Friday’s quarterfinal matchup against Ballard in the Republic Bank Louisville Invitation Tournament, Bullitt East coach Jason Couch talked about one thing.

Competing for 32 minutes.

Despite a 72-61 loss, Couch said it wasn’t because of any lack of effort by his Chargers.

“We competed for 32 minutes,” said Couch, who is in his first year at Bullitt East.

With 2:56 left in the game, the Chargers trailed 60-56.
