     With concerts, games, and festivals in full swing this summer, many fans are eager to purchase tickets to their favorite events. However, before committing to a purchase, BBB warns to beware of ticket scams!

    Many tend to seek out tickets on classified sites. Unfortunately, this is where many scam artists lurk. For instance, fake tickets are often posted on Craigslist, with “too-good-to-be-true” prices. The seller asks the buyer to pay through wire services, like Western Union then the buyer never receives the tickets.

  • MW budget approved according to plan

     MOUNT WASHINGTON - The Mount Washington City Council unanimously passed the 2013-14 city budget but that wasn’t a surprise.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - A split 4-2 approval vote made the proposed 2013-14 fiscal year budget official after a lengthy conversation.

  • Vocalist of the Year to be determined at county fair

     Local singers will have the chance to see who’s the best at the Bullitt County Fair this year. 

    For the third consecutive year, the Bullitt County Vocalist of the Year competition will be held at the fairgrounds from Monday, June 17, to Saturday, June 22. 

    The contest, which is sponsored by the Bullitt County Arts Council and Bullitt County Public Libraries, will have tryouts in the pavilion Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Finals will be held at the inside stage in the main building on Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

  • AARP, community helps food pantry

    The Mount Washington AARP Chapter solicited donations on June 7-8 at the Valu Market. The collections were to benefit the Mount Washington Community Ministries food pantry. Cash donations of $252.58 were just part of the story as many pounds of food was also donated, with an estimated value of $2,200, which is $200 more than the food drive in March.

     HILLVIEW - The Bullitt County Sanitation District hopes to upgrade its system by replacing two old plants with a one brand new facility.
