    1. Prepaid Debit Card Scams are gaining popularity. In one scam, scam artists are calling consumers, posing as Duke Energy, threatening to turn a customer’s power off if a payment is not made within the hour, using a prepaid debit card. The scam artist asks the consumer to purchase a prepaid debit card then instructs the consumer to call back with the card’s number and PIN. Don’t fall for this scam!

  • Time arrives to speak on future development

     SHEPHERDSVILLE – A crowd of about 60 people got to hear “why” the Bullitt County Joint Planning Commission was undertaking a revision of its comprehensive land-use plan.

  • Mt. Washington looks at ways to clean up properties

     MOUNT WASHINGTON - Members of the Mount Washington City Council recently took time to address the vacant property at the corner of Highway 44 and Fisher Lane, as well as the abandoned fuel station at First Street and Old Bardstown Road.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE – It was a full house on a recent Saturday morning as members of the community, as well as some elected officials, listened to concerns about some transportation possibilities that might affect seven residential subdivisions.

     HEBRON ESTATES – As land for expansion on most school sites continues to shrink, Bullitt County officials recently made a deal that will serve well for the future.

     HILLVIEW – City officials talked about making mandatory training for those who sell alcohol at local businesses.

  • Waiting period for building permits

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - Shepherdsville mayor Scott Ellis sees it a lot, and it admittedly makes him nervous.

    When visitors at the Shepherdsville Government Center apply for building permits, the long wait for completed paperwork grinds.

    Ellis decided to do something for employee safety, an executive order that would alleviate the issue for both employees and visitors.

    "Instead of waiting, and getting testy, we'd make it a 24-hour deal," he said.

  • Davis contract extended by 3-2

     SHEPHERDSVILLE – A year after a similar request failed, Keith Davis received an extension to his contract as superintendent of the Bullitt County Public School System.
