 SHEPHERDSVILLE - Although media coverage of the Alabama tornado damage lessens as weeks pass by, relief efforts across the nation - and across Bullitt County - remain strong. 

 SHEPHERDSVILLE - If Bullitt County Public School Board members had any question about the direction a new learning program was going, all they had to do is listen to administrators, curriculum coaches and students.

 The Bullitt County Board of Education and the Kentucky Board of Education have scheduled a local/state Board public hearing on the proposed Bullitt County District Facility Plan for Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at 5:30 p.m. EDT in the Superintendents Offices located at 1040 Highway 44 East, Shepherdsville, KY 40165.

 Kaitlyn McKnight's essay American Identity on What's Great About America received an Honorable Mention by Stossel in the Classroom. The contest was sponsored by the Sandra and Lawrence Post Family Foundation.

     Kaitlyn was awarded a Certificate of Recognition and $50.

     "It's pretty cool," said the 16 year-old daughter of Kathy and Kenny McKnight.
