  • National Day of Prayer

     Over 300 people gathered on a beautiful Thursday to celebrate the annual National Day of Prayer at the Shepherdsville City Park.

    Ron Bradshaw and Terry Gallagher sang How Great Thou Art.

    Pastor Ron Lasley of Maranatha Fellowship brought the audience to its knees during his prayer for the military.

  • Hats off to a grand educational event

     The Bullitt County Educational Foundation held its third annual Pre-Derby Affair at MillaNova Winery on Friday.

    The event included silent and live auctions and a dinner, as well as musical entertainment. Plus, there was a table to purchase those fancy Derby hats, which were in abundance at the gala.

    The fund-raiser is to allow the foundation to provide grant money for educational projects.

  • Time to take out the trash

     County road department employees, with assistance from inmates at the Bullitt County Detention Center, helped residents dispose of their junk items at the old Shepherdsville Middle School site.

    On Saturday, April 27, residents can dispose of their junk items from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Bullitt East and North Bullitt High Schools.

    The city of Mount Washington is also having its own cleanup days this week.
