     WEST POINT - Those who looked forward to the 2012 Spring Machine Gun Shoot & Military Gun Show at West Point’s Knob Creek Gun Range will have to make other plans for this weekend. 

  • Easter Bunny found in Bullitt County

     The Easter Bunny was busy during the annual Hillview Easter Egg hunt.

    From offering to hold some of the candy for the little hunters to posing with a youngster for a picture to trying to coax a youngster to come have his picture taken, the Easter Bunny was the main center of attention.

    The Operation Santa committee in Hillview sponsored the annual event.

  • The Last Supper

     In celebration of Easter, Belmont Baptist Church put on a play about the Last Supper and the events that led to the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

    Lebanon Junction resident Steve Taylor played the role of Jesus.

  • Fox Chase escapes with no snow issue

                FOX CHASE - What once looked like a potential nightmare for the city of Fox Chase has so far turned out to be a nice saving of funds.

                The city of Pioneer Village ended a snow removal contract with Fox Chase earlier in the season, leaving officials scrambling for a contracted replacement.

                The search came down to two individuals, Jason Denner and Craig Stump.

                FRANKFORT - The Kentucky Department for Public Health (DPH) is working to promote Public Health Week, an annual observance that focuses on a critical public health issue to raise awareness and help people live longer, healthier lives.

  • ROADWORK: Week of April 9

    The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 5 reports the following roadwork scheduled for the week of April 9:


    KY 251 (Belmont Road):  Lane closures and delays possible between Belmont Farm Lane and KY 61 (mile points 0.0 and 3.0) due to roadway resurfacing.  Work is currently scheduled for weeknights from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning.

  • Vehicle versus tree

                MOUNT WASHINGTON - A Mount Washington man sustained minor injuries after crashing his car into tree and a light pole Thursday night.

                Mount Washington Police and Fire units were dispatched to the accident scene on Woodlake Drive near Highway 44 East around 9 p.m.

  • Beam Inc, employees provide aid for disaster work by Red Cross

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - Thanks to a contribution from a local employer, disaster relief help will be spread a little further for tornado victims in Kentucky and Indiana.
