  • Truck hits house in Hillview

     HILLVIEW - A pickup truck passenger was transported to the hospital after the truck hit a house on Hillview Blvd Tuesday afternoon.

    Bullitt County Sheriffs Dep. James Benham said the truck, a red Ford F150, was headed westbound on Hillview when it left the roadway.

    According to Benham, the truck ran into the ditch, blowing a tire and curving around. The truck's back end made contact with a car and carport at 1462 Hillview.

  • Train derailment has little impact in Bullitt County

     NICHOLS - There was little impact on Bullitt Countians when a freight train traveling on CSX tracks along the Ohio River and Dixie Highway derailed early Monday morning.

    Jefferson County hazardous material personnel responded to the scene around 6 a.m. on Monday. About a dozen rail cars traveling to Louisville from Paducah were derailed and concerns over escaping chemicals caused the evacuation of an area along Katherine Station Road and Abbotts Beach Road.

  • Ky. secretary of state urges voters to prepare for general election

     FRANKFORT - The General Election is less than two weeks away, and Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes is reminding all eligible voters to plan ahead for Election Day to make sure their voices are heard on November 6th.

    “Every election matters, and every vote counts,” said Grimes. “Kentucky is at its best when everyone’s voice heard, and making sure voters are knowledgeable about the election process helps ensure all eligible citizens have the opportunity to participate.”

  • MW council to take time to study residential rezoning off Hwy. 44

     MOUNT WASHINGTON - After hearing second reading of an ordinance to rezone a 90-acre development in Mount Washington city officials decided they needed more time to think it over. 

    Mount Washington City Council members voted unanimously to table an ordinance that would rezone 90 acres on the south side of Highway 44 East and East Sanders lane from R-2 Residential to R-3 during their last regular meeting.

  • Seven battle for six spots in Pioneer Village

          PIONEER VILLAGE - When voters go to the polls on Nov. 6, there will be seven names to consider for the Pioneer Village City Council.

         Only the top six votegetters will serve the next two years on the town board.

         This year's field includes five incumbents and two challengers for the non-partisan seats.

         For over 18 years, Druin has been a stable force on the Pioneer Village City Council.
