  • Shepherdsville already changes new sewer rates

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - An ordinance approved in June to increase sewer rates in the city of Shepherdsville has already been changed.

  • Fire damages Hillview home

     HILLVIEW - A Bullitt County north end residence was destroyed by a fire Tuesday evening.

    Zoneton Fire units responded to the scene at 249 Symmetric Court around 6:15 p.m.

    ZFD Capt. Steve Corbin said the fire began in a single room, possibly a kitchen area.

    The flames were controlled within 30 minutes. The house received heavy damages including a large hole in the roof.

    A resident was home at the time of the fire. He was treated by Bullitt County EMS units for smoke inhalation but was not injured.

  • ROADWORK: Week of August 15

     The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 5 reports the following roadwork scheduled for the week of August 15:

    Bullitt County:

    Southbound Interstate 65:  The right and center lanes will be closed at mile point 115.8 due to pavement repairs.  These lane closures are scheduledfor Wednesday, August 17th from 7:00 p.m. until midnight.

     MOUNT WASHINGTON - The Mount Washington City Council was expected to vote on a measure to rezone nearly 10 acres of property under development at Armstrong Lane and Highway 44 Monday night.

     CLERMONT - Law enforcement officials are looking for a group of men who may be suspects in several local break-ins.

  • Indictments show rise in thefts

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - Burglaries and thefts continue to rise in Bullitt County.

  • Head-on collision on Hwy. 61; no serious injuries

     Highway 61 was closed just south of Bells Mill Rd. following a head-on collision Monday afternoon.

    According to Bullitt County Sheriffs Dep. Dale Pressley, a driver in a black PT Cruiser was traveling southbound on 61 when it apparently left the right side of the road, overcompensated and crossed the northbound lane, hitting a guardrail.

    The Cruiser then re-entered the northbound lane, with its passenger-side front corner impacting the passenger-side corner of a green Ford Focus headed northbound.

  • MW man indicted for fraud

           LOUISVILLE - A Mount Washington resident is facing criminal charges of misbranding, adulterating and contaminating inhalation medications and committing health care fraud while serving as vice president of a Louisville-based medical equipment supply company. 

  • Land might be issue as MW fights census

     MOUNT WASHINGTON - Only a few weeks after city officials began gathering documentation to challenge the U.S. Census Bureau’s official 2010 population count for Mount Washington it appeared they had the proof they needed to file an appeal.
