  • New volunteers trained to aid children through CASA program

     The CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Program for Bullitt County has recently completed a new volunteer training session with seven new volunteers.  Dana Adkins, Stacey Bernard, Tammy Cordts, Elsie Hale, Judy Hammond, Joe Hammond, and Julie Linton have joined CASA in making a difference for the children in Bullitt County.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - Just hours after learning that a controversial rezoning request would be pulled from consideration, members of Bardstown Junction Baptist Church have filed a lawsuit against various county agencies.

    Bullitt County:

    Interstate 65: Shoulder closures and delays possible between mile point s 103.8 and 109.36 due to media cable

    barrier installation.

    KY 480 (Cedar Grove Road): Construction delays possible between Interstate 65 and Cedar Grove Elementary

    School (mile points 1.0 and 2.0) due to roadway widening.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - Four school administrators have been cleared of civil charges in a case of a teacher and a student having sexual relations in 2009-10.

  • National Quartet Convention kicks off in Louisville

     LOUISVILLE - The 54th Annual National Quartet Convention kicks off on Sunday evening in Louisville at the Kentucky Fair & Expo Center.

    The event is expected to bring more than 40,000 people to the city for Southern Gospel Music’s largest event. A Sunday evening concert serves as the official kick-off for the week, as The Hoppers, The Booth Brothers and Greater Vision (pictured in attached jpg) will be featured in a 6:00pm concert in East Hall.

  • Kimmel II makes first ARCA start at Salem Speedway Sep. 17

     MOORESVILLE, N.C. - Frank Kimmel II, son of nine-time ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards champion Frank Kimmel, has had Saturday, September 17 circled on his calendar for a long time. 

    The third-generation driver will take the green flag at Salem Speedway for the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic by Federated Car Care, piloting the Cunningham Motorsports No. 77 Ford Fusion to the first full ARCA Racing Series race of his career.
