It’s been about 13 years since the dedication of Paroquet Springs Conference Centre. On July 17 Bill Barnes will get to see the fruits of his labor with the ribbon cutting of Barnes Courtyard.

  • Message, not words, concerns city official

SHEPHERDSVILLE – Unlike one of his fellow council mates, Jose Cubero did not take personal offense at a recent newspaper advertising questioning the safety of city revenue.

Despite using the closing line of “Just Say No Way, Jose,” Cubero did not agree that it was meant to be racist.

What the first-term councilman did find offensive is the continued attack by some in Shepherdsville where incorrect information is being spread and the whole truth is not being told.

  • Eastside band receives Grand Sweepstakes Award

For the third time, Music Director Cheri (Greer) Dugger has guided concert band students to the Grand Sweepstakes Award at the Music Showcase Festivals in Ohio.

  • MW Gold U-8 All-Stars finish game short of final

MOUNT WASHINGTON – The Mount Washington Under-8 Gold All-Stars made a big run in last week’s District 10 & 11 Tournament that the league was hosting.

Unlike the league’s other U-8 All-Star squad which played together all spring as a ‘traveling’ team, this Gold squad was a true All-Star squad as the team’s players competed only in the league’s regular league.
