MOUNT WASHINGTON - For two decades the Mount Washington chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons has existed to improve quality of life for those 50 and older, but the organization’s commitment to service has gone far beyond its members.
The crowd came and went last Saturday as the Bullitt County 4-H hosted its Fun in the Sun summer festival at the Bullitt County Extension Service.
The temperatures were blistering and the goal for many was to find ways to stay cool. That ranged from the dumping machine, the lawn sprinkler to the sno-cone machine. Of course, trying to find some shade was another goal.
The event was also an opportunity to showcase the works of the Bullitt County 4-H participants.
SALEM, Ind. – Salem Speedway management announced today that the USAC National Pavement Sprint Car series has been removed from the event schedule for the upcoming Joe James/Pat O’Connor Memorial.
In making the announcement Salem Speedway general manager Richard Deaton said, “Due to the fact that we have been informed by USAC officials that a low car count is expected, possibly as few as six cars, it leaves us with no other option than to drop USAC from the event.”
