  • Briggs takes over NB squad at last minute

     HEBRON ESTATES – What started out as a relatively mundane coaching hire for the North Bullitt Eagles back in the summer, turned into something a lot bigger a few weeks ago when Dick Briggs was elevated to coach the boys’ varsity team this season.

         It was a whirlwind turn of events for Briggs who hasn’t been a high school head coach since the 1960s. Even then, that experience was in Indiana. This is Briggs’ first head coaching job in Kentucky.

    MOUNT WASHINGTON-- More than 15,000 canned and boxed food items were collected during the Scouting for Food drive in the Mount Washington area alone. Those items are used by the MW Community Ministries to provide for those in need throughout the year.

    Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch cleaning, pavement marking, and maintenance crews may work on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area only during non-peak daytime hours and at night. Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance and pavement marking crews on interstates and highways throughout the rest of the district on a daily basis.

  • Keith attends fall clerks conference

     FRANKFORT – Bullitt County Circuit Court Clerk Paulita A. Keith participated in the 2013 Circuit Court clerks Fall College that took place Sept. 24-26 in Lexington.  The Administrative Office of the Courts provided the judicial education program for the state’s circuit court clerks.

  • Charger Fall Brawl

     The Bullitt East wrestling program will host the Charger Fall Brawl on Saturday.

    This is the first year for the event that Charger head coach Adam Ritter is calling “The battle at East, After the Feast.”

    There will be seven teams taking part in the event. Besides Bullitt East, teams from North Bullitt, North Oldham, Valley, Holy Cross, Male and Western Hills will be taking part.

    There will be three mats of action taking place.

  • KSP Launches Nighttime Enforcement Campaign: 'Operation Holiday Lights'

     FRANKFORT – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is launching a nighttime holiday enforcement campaign designed to reduce traffic fatalities on Kentucky roadways. ‘Operation Holiday Lights: All Night. Every Night.’ begins today at 6 p.m. and extends through January 1, 2014 at midnight.

    KSP spokesman Sgt. Michael Webb says the statewide enforcement effort will utilize collision analysis data to determine which counties have the highest instance of injury and fatal crashes.
